The Tragedy of Y : Ellery Queen 세계 3대 추리소설로 불린다는 Agatha Christie의 'And Then There Were None', Elley Queen의 'The Tragedy of Y', 그리고 William Irish의 'The Phantom Lady' 중, '그리고 아무도 없었다' 딱 한권만 읽어본것은 둘째치고, 나머지는 들어보지도 못했다는 사실에 자못 부끄러웠다. 부랴부랴 'Y의 비극'부터 인터넷으로 뒤져보지만, 절판된 책이라 겨우 ebay를 통해 중고책을 구할수 있었다. The Lost Symbol : Dan Brown Da Vinci Code를 너무 열광적으로 좋아했던터라, 실은 다른책을 구하려 들린 Barnes & Noble 입구에 쫙 깔려있는 Dan Brown의 신작을 주저없이 집어들었다. 워낙의 이야기꾼이라 신작 역시 Page-Turner, 지루함 없이 몇일안에 쑥딱 끝냈지만, 읽는 내내 계속 들던 '다빈치 재탕'이라는 느낌을 결국 지워내기 어려웠다. 작가의 방대한 전문지식의 추출과 과학, 종교, 신화, 음모론들의 고리를 엮어내는 천재성은 다빈치 때와 마찬가지로 출중했지만, 다빈치의 Holy Grail가 이번엔 1달러에 그려진 Masonic Pryamid로 그저 바뀌였을뿐, 거의 똑같은 소설을 두번 읽은 느낌이 내 솔직한 감상문이다. 스포일러 한가지, 스타크래프트의 EMP가 등장한다.
